Today's script
103 years ago today, the Republic of Türkiye was proclaimed. Happy Republic Day. The evening of October 28, a dinner at Çankaya. Nutuk (Atatürk's Great Speech) records that moment like this: "Tomorrow we will proclaim the Republic!" The next day, on October 29, 1923, the Assembly proclaimed the Republic. In his 10th Anniversary Speech, he set the goal: "We will raise our national culture above the level of contemporary civilization." In the same speech, he named what lights the way: "…the torch it holds in its hand and in its mind is positive science." A coincidence: on October 29, 1969, the first message of the internet was sent. The word to send was login. L and O went through, then the system crashed. The internet's first word was LO. With respect, we remember Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who opened this path, and our heroes. Tomorrow: someone on the phone says they're the police and tells you to move your money to a safe account.
